Leading environmental consultancy specializing in peatland restoration and biochar carbon removal across Asia and Eastern Europe
Peatland Ecosystems FZ-LLC develops carbon removal solutions through peatland rewetting and biochar production. We combine rigorous scientific expertise with deep carbon market knowledge to create sustainable, community-focused climate projects that deliver measurable impact.
Our approach integrates cutting-edge digital monitoring, verification, and reporting (dMRV) systems with traditional ecological restoration practices. By working closely with local communities and leveraging circular economy principles, we ensure that carbon removal projects generate lasting environmental and social benefits while meeting the highest integrity standards demanded by corporate buyers and independent voluntary carbon market programs.

Peatland Ecosystems FZ-LLC is a Dubai-based environmental consultancy established in 2024, dedicated to developing high-integrity carbon removal projects through peatland restoration and biochar production.
Licensed by Dubai Science Park, we operate at the intersection of environmental science, carbon markets, and sustainable development to create climate solutions that work for both nature and communities.
Our multidisciplinary team brings together expertise in wetland ecology, carbon accounting, digital monitoring systems, and climate finance. This combination allows us to shepherd projects from initial feasibility through to carbon credit issuance and sales, ensuring scientific rigor and market credibility at every step.
Restoring degraded peatlands to halt emissions and sequester carbon through hydrological management
Developing circular economy biochar projects that return nutrients to farmers while removing carbon
Project design, financing, verification, and carbon credit sales across multiple registries
Feasibility studies, carbon modeling, and digital MRV implementation for climate projects
Krasnokamsk District, Perm Krai, Russian Federation
Russia's drained peatlands represent one of the country's largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions, releasing significant CO2 through peat oxidation and devastating wildfires. The Paltinskoye project addresses this critical environmental challenge through comprehensive peatland rewetting, restoring natural hydrology to halt decomposition and create a long-term carbon sink.
By blocking drainage canals and raising water tables, we transform these degraded landscapes from major emission sources into functioning wetland ecosystems that actively sequester carbon while providing habitat for native species and reducing fire risk for surrounding communities.
Initial Phase Area
Project Timeline (2026-2055)
Total Carbon Removal
Detailed mapping of drainage networks and water flow patterns to design optimal rewetting strategy
Strategic installation of dams and barriers to restore natural water levels throughout the peatland
Monitoring systems and protective measures to prevent fires during and after restoration
Long-term tracking of vegetation recovery and wildlife return as ecosystem functions recover
Ongoing management and safeguards to ensure permanent conservation of restored peatland
Bayanzoorkh District, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Mongolia's unique peatland ecosystems face increasing degradation from drainage activities and the accelerating impacts of climate change. These critical carbon stores, formed over thousands of years in the country's cold climate zones, are vulnerable to rapid decomposition once their hydrology is disrupted. The Uliastai project protects and restores these vital ecosystems while generating sustainable benefits for local herding communities.
Through careful hydrological restoration and protective measures, we're not only preventing massive carbon emissions but also preserving important water sources and grazing lands that support traditional livelihoods in this remote region.
Re-establishing natural water flow patterns through meandering channel creation and drainage blockage to restore optimal moisture levels across the peatland complex
Strategic fencing installation to prevent future degradation from overgrazing and unauthorized drainage while allowing controlled traditional land use
Native plant species reintroduction and afforestation in buffer zones to accelerate ecosystem recovery and enhance carbon sequestration capacity
Engagement with local herding families to ensure project activities support traditional livelihoods while creating new economic opportunities through carbon revenues

Pakpattan District, Punjab, Pakistan
Every harvest season, Punjab transforms into a choking haze as farmers burn 14.5 million tonnes of crop residues in their fields. With no viable alternatives for disposal and the need to prepare land quickly for the next planting, agricultural burning has become standard practice, despite devastating consequences.
During peak burning season, PM2.5 levels reach 28 times WHO safety guidelines, creating a public health crisis that affects over 100 million people. Beyond the immediate air quality disaster, this practice releases massive quantities of greenhouse gases while destroying organic matter that could enrich soils.

The Emerald Carbon project transforms this environmental crisis into a climate solution by creating a circular system that benefits farmers, improves air quality, removes carbon, and regenerates soils. Instead of burning crop residues, we collect them, convert them into stable biochar through solar-powered carbonization, and return the biochar to farmers as a valuable soil amendment.
Corn stalks and rice straw collected directly from farms
Solar-powered processing converts biomass to stable biochar
High-quality biochar with verified carbon removal properties
Biochar applied to fields, improving fertility and water retention
Carbon credits sold to companies with net-zero commitments
At the heart of the project is the HaiQi CNBC-1000 Continuous Carbonization System, an industrial-scale biochar production unit capable of processing 4,000 kg of agricultural residues per hour. Powered entirely by solar energy at 18% efficiency, the system operates sustainably while achieving the high temperatures needed to convert biomass into stable, high-carbon biochar.
The continuous feed design allows for 24/7 operation during harvest seasons, processing 30,000 tonnes of corn stalks and rice straw annually to produce 9,600 tonnes of biochar with a carbon content exceeding 60%.
